Fiber Arts Goodies

I have been really blessed this past year, when it comes to fiber arts.  I finally found a spinning wheel at an affordable price, I was gifted with an inkle loom and also I was gifted with a small tabletop loom that has string heddles.

I am almost ready to start weaving...once I get some cotton or linen thread...and there's that whole "learning to warp my loom" bit.  Good thing I have lots of intelligent and knowledgeable friends.  Oh, Kelly...  Oh, Liz....

*(I do have books, but I'm a tactile/visual learner)

  1. what a fabulous little counterbalance loom! Make sure you thread a heddle from each the front and back arrangements, so your threads are front, back, front, back. Putting cardboard around the back beam, keeping your warp seperated around each wrap will keep your warp more even. Keep the warp evenly snug across the threads and bob's your uncle...or husband! You'll be able to weave some plain weave cloth with your loom, anything fancier requires more heddle harnesses.

  2. Thanks Kelly. I am thinking a dishcloth would make a good first project.
